How does this drum circle work?

Typically we begin with some brief introductions.

We learn and review the basic physical mechanics of playing the drum including: body posture, hand positions, how to play the various tones of the drum.

We play some rhythm games to deepen our sense of rhythm and to develop richer group interactions.

We may learn some specific rhythms

Using the skills and rhythms we've learned, and following our own heart and the heartbeat of the group, we have a period of more open improvisation.

We have some type of group completion, possibly a song, personal sharing.
